RPM Labels Signs Groundbreaking Distribution Deal with Global Streaming Platforms for Malaysian Artists

In a landmark development for Malaysia’s music industry, RPM Labels has announced a comprehensive distribution agreement with three major global streaming platforms that will significantly expand the reach of Malaysian artists worldwide.

The multi-year deal ensures premium placement and marketing support for RPM artists across Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music, including featured playlist positions, algorithmic promotion, and spotlight campaigns designed to introduce Malaysian talent to international audiences.

“This agreement represents a watershed moment for Malaysian music,” said Daniel Fong, Managing Director of RPM Labels. “Our artists now have the same promotional opportunities previously reserved for major international labels, while maintaining their creative independence and cultural authenticity.”

The deal follows the breakout success of RPM artist Amir Hassan, whose debut album “Senyawa” achieved over 50 million streams globally, demonstrating the international appeal of contemporary Malaysian music. Under the new agreement, RPM will launch a dedicated development program to prepare ten new Malaysian artists annually for global distribution.

“We’re not just exporting Malaysian music—we’re introducing global audiences to Malaysian cultural expressions through contemporary sounds,” added Fong. “This partnership recognizes that Malaysian artists have something unique to contribute to the world music scene.”

The first releases under the new distribution model are scheduled for May 2025, with a special showcase concert featuring RPM’s roster planned for Kuala Lumpur’s Axiata Arena in June.
